The Fourth Miracle
Mary of the Rosary of San Nicolas
(The image of Our Lady of San Nicolas, Argentina )
Brief Summary of the Miracle:
An ordinary housewife, a mother and grandmother (Gladys Quiroga de Motta) in Argentina who had no formal education and little knowledge of the Bible or theology claimed that she was visited by the Blessed Virgin Mary numerous times for a period of about 6 1/2 years from Sep 25, 1983 to Feb 11, 1990. The Virgin Mary asked her to tell the Bishop to have a Sanctuary built on a wasteland called Campito on the banks of the Parana river in Argentina. Gladys reported that she received over 1,800 messages from the Virgin Mary during those 6 1/2 years. During this time, Gladys also reported that she received 68 additional messages from Our Lord Jesus Christ. Numerous healings, including the cure of a boy with a brain tumor, have been documented in association with these apparations. Below is the storyline of the events as they unfolded:

Gladys recognizes the apparition when she sees an image of the Lady of Rosary relegated to the belfry of the diocesan cathedral because of damage. The Virgin referred to Exodus 25;8 in describing the church to be built. The passage says,"They shall make a sanctuary for me, that I may dwell in their midst." The significance of the passage is that it contains the instructions given by God to the Israelites for builiding the Ark of the Covenant by means of which Yahweh would be present to them. The New Testament and the earlyChurch has consistently understood Mary to be the New Ark of the Covenant, who was the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit and the Bearer of the Son. At San Nicolas, the Virgin was restating this teaching.

Hundreds of Thousands Commerate Anniversary of First Vision:
Buenos Aires, Sep 28, 2008 / 10:45 pm (CNA).- Some 200,000 people participated in the Eucharistic celebration near the Sanctuary of Mary of the Rosary of San Nicolás, for the 25th Anniversary of the appearances of Our Lady in Argentina.
The Eucharistic celebration was presided over by the Bishop of San Nicolás de los Arroyos, Héctor Cardelli who in his homily stressed that "when Mary calls us together, the family is reinforced, because the Mother is bringing her children together."
"How much she told us and how little we recall! How opportune was the intervention of Mary, who reminds us to listen to Christ the Teacher…an encounter with Him ensures the presence of the Kingdom here, among us," he continued. The bishop went on to emphasize that it has already been 25 years since “her maternal accompaniment has come to us and spoken of her love and fidelity to follow Christ, who is our Way, Truth and Life. Christ is the point of reunion, because from Him, our steps have a course, our motivations have direction and our lives make sense."
"Considering this brief history, if only 25 years, we see nothing more than grace after grace, where our faith has grown based on acts and the Word being translated into reconciliation, peace, prayer and mission," he concluded.
